Life Support Notification Program
If you or someone in your household relies on electrically powered medical equipment – such as a home dialysis unit, ventilator, CPAP machine, or other life-sustaining devices – it is important that you register with our Life Support Notification Program.
While we work hard to provide safe and reliable service, uninterrupted electricity cannot be guaranteed. Planned maintenance, weather-related events, and unexpected outages may occur. By registering, you help ensure we are aware of your needs and can notify you in advance of planned service interruptions whenever possible.
Who Can Register
A Life Support Customer is a residential customer who submits medical documentation from a licensed physician confirming that interruption of electrical service may pose a serious risk to:
- the customer’s health, or
- the health of a spouse, dependent, or another resident in the household.
What We Ask of Life Support Customers
To support your safety during power interruptions, we strongly recommend that you:
- Complete and submit the Life Support Notification registration form, with required medical documentation.
- Maintain an alternate source of power such as a battery backup (UPS) or a generator.
- Develop a personal emergency plan, which may include relocating to a safe location if restoration takes longer than available backup power.
- Determine whether emergency medical assistance may be required in the event of an extended outage.
While we make every effort to contact registered life support customers before a planned outage, unplanned outages may occur without prior notice. We will attempt to provide updates, but we are not liable for any impacts related to service interruptions.
